Martin Health System based in Stuart, Fla. comprises two hospitals, two MediCenters, a free-standing emergency center, and numerous outpatient centers and clinics. A third hospital, Tradition Medical Center, will be completed in 2014 in west Port St. Lucie. The system is a not-for-profit, community-based health care organization that offers preventive, primary and acute hospital care, as well as cancer care, a heart center, wellness and rehabilitation services, and much more. Our services provide care for residents throughout the Treasure Coast, including Stuart, Jensen Beach, Hobe Sound, Palm City and Port St. Lucie.

Clinical research is a key element in Martin Health’s efforts to improve the treatments and lives of people in the community and includes an affiliation with Moffitt Cancer Center. Since 2001, more than 75 oncology clinical trials have been conducted through the Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center. Martin Health is continuing to expand its research capabilities into fields other than cancer, ranging from rheumatology to cardiology and infectious diseases. In addition, Martin Health is a member of the Tradition Center for Innovation at Port St. Lucie, which includes Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute (VGTI Florida) and the Mann Research Center.
Our two hospitals have 344 hospital beds--244 at Martin Medical Center, and 100 at Martin Hospital South. Tradition Medical Center will be a 90-bed state-of-the-art facility. Nearly 400 doctors and more than 2,900 employees are dedicated to Martin Health. Our generous volunteers give more than 187,000 hours annually--the equivalent of 97 full-time employees!
Martin Health is accredited by The Joint Commission, one of the most respected accreditations in the nation. It is a Joint Commission certified primary stroke center and has Commission on Cancer accreditation. Martin Medical Center is a six-time national winner of the Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals recognition, which evaluates 3,000 short-term acute care, non-federal hospitals in the United States and a two-time awardee of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in the nation. The Orthopaedic Specialty Center at Martin Health System has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for disease-specific care certification for joint replacement of the knee and hip.
