STUART, Fla., Feb. 19, 2013 – The Martin Health Foundation Women in Philanthropy is hosting its fourth annual Women’s Health Summit on March 2.

The free event will be held at Willoughby Golf Club, located at 3001 S.E. Doubleton Drive in Stuart. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with refreshments provided. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (772) 223-2812, or by visiting GIVEmhf.org/WIP.

The annual event is designed to provide women with information on topics that can help them improve their health and quality of life.

This year’s event is called “Take Back Your Life NOW!” featuring Barbara McFarland, EdD. An author, psychologist and motivational speaker who has appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and the “Today Show,” Dr. McFarland will discuss her book, “The Balanced Life” and offer specific strategies and tools for self-empowerment.

Dr. McFarland has designed and delivered large scale wellness programs and seminars related to life balance throughout the world. She has worked with numerous international corporations to develop wellness programs, including Procter and Gamble, General Electric, the Andrew Jergens Company and many more.

The Women’s Health Summit is hosted by the Martin Health Foundation Women in Philanthropy, a group of community leaders who seek to promote and collectively create healthier and more sustainable lives and communities. Now in its third year, the 60-member group has raised more than $110,000 to fund projects that can improve the health and well-being of local women and their families.
