STUART, Fla., Jan. 17, 2014 – Martin Health System has been recognized by Employer of Choice International, Inc. for the fourth time in the past five years. This designation places the health system in an elite group of just 28 health care organizations from across the country that have been recognized as an Employer of Choice and the only health care organization that has received the designation four times. Martin Health previously received the designation in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The Employer of Choice designation is awarded to public, private or nonprofit employers that demonstrate effective implementation of best practices in attracting, developing and retaining outstanding people.
“Working to achieve and maintain this level of recognition has significant benefits for both our employees and the patients we serve,” said Mark Robitaille, president and chief executive officer. “We have seen associate satisfaction and productivity rise substantially while workforce turnover has been reduced. This has a direct impact on our ability to provide exceptional health care for the residents of the Treasure Coast.”
Designations are based upon a rigorous review of an organization’s practices. This includes a wide spectrum of workforce topics, including a company’s business practices and improvement initiatives, a marketplace comparative analysis and a benefits review.
Organizational culture, turnover rates compared to the industry average, and workforce retention were also carefully examined as part of the review process.
Joyce Gioia, chief executive officer of Employer of Choice International, Inc.®, said, “Today’s workers have more employment choices than ever before. We applaud Martin Health System for taking the necessary steps to differentiate it and strengthen its position among job seekers. By doing that, the system can best achieve a higher level of system-wide performance and continuity, greater workforce stability and superior levels of customer loyalty and employee satisfaction.”
