Jessyka Williams, a Martin Health patient registration supervisor, demonstrates the Right
Patient identification system to visiting representatives from Adventist Health System.
FL – Representatives from Adventist Health System recently
visited the emergency department at Martin Medical Center in Stuart to see a
new patient identification and safety tool in action. The
RightPatient™ Biometric Patient Identification system from M2SYS (www.m2sys.com) was launched at
Martin Health in October 2013 in the health care system’s four emergency departments.
The system uses a special camera to take a photo of a patient’s iris which is a unique identifier for every individual. RightPatient then links the photo to the patient's medical record to prevent the
creation of a duplicate medical record or medical identity
theft. Martin Health patients have warmly embraced the new technology.
