A variety of false theories about breast cancer risk factors cause unnecessary concerns for many women. Many have been studied and found to have no impact on breast cancer risk.
Some false risk factors include:
Antiperspirant and deodorant use
Wearing regular bras or underwire bras
Caffeine intake
Breast implants
Abortion
Exposure to environmental contaminants, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
Living near electromagnetic fields
Trauma to the breast
