(HealthDay News) -- A night terror is "a sudden reaction of fear" that occurs during sleep, usually in children, the Nemours Foundation says.
The foundation offers these suggestions to help minimize night terrors:
Keep your child's stress to a minimum.
Create a predictable, relaxing bedtime routine and follow it every night.
Help your child get plenty of rest.
Don't let your child stay up too late, as that can leave the child overtired.
