Tonsillectomy
- Disease Stage: Individuals scheduled for tonsillectomy
- Status: Recruiting
- Sponsor: VGTI-FL
- Title: Implication of FOXO3a Signaling and Tfh Cell Help in the Self-Renewal and Survival of GC-Derived Memory B-Cells
- Phase: n/a
- Purpose: Little is known about the actual process that manages and controls the immune system. Understanding the pathways that govern this process will provide important insight into the workings of the immune system to better treat and prevent infectious diseases. In this study researchers will search for T-cells and memory B-cells in human tonsillar tissue and in the blood, to investigate this process and study the role FOXO3a and Tfh cells have in the survival of memory B cells and plasma cells.
Eligibility

- Scheduled for tonsillectomy surgery
- Willing to donate small amount of blood
