The Martin Health Auxiliary is an organization with a rich heritage of volunteer support for one of our community’s most important resources, Martin Health System.

Martin Memorial Volunteers

The Martin Health Auxiliary (originally called the Women’s Auxiliary) was established in 1942, not long after Martin County Hospital opened in 1939. Today, the Auxiliary not only supports the original hospital (which has grown!), but all of Martin Health System’s facilities on the Treasure Coast.

Today’s Auxiliary is made up of men and women from all walks of life and almost every occupation. Our volunteers are retired or working adults, college students and teenagers seeking to give back to their community. The Martin Health Auxiliary is one of the largest auxiliaries in the state of Florida, and has:

  • More than 900 volunteers
  • Almost 200,000 volunteer hours contributed annually
  • More than $18 million dollars worth of service contributed to Martin Health System

The Auxiliary not only provides volunteer services, but also focuses on philanthropic contributions to the health system as one of its core mission values. Revenue-generating volunteer activities fund contributions to Martin Health facilities and programs that support the health system. The Auxiliary recently completed a pledge of $1 million to Martin Health’s open-heart program.

The Martin Health Auxiliary is a member of the Association of Florida Healthcare Auxilians/Volunteers.
